Trail Ride - Elbow Lake, Tombstone Lakes, and Rae Lake
This trail ride will start at the Elbow Pass Day Use area on highway 40 in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The ride will follow the Big Elbow Trail past Elbow Lake, then up to Tombstone Lakes, then back along the Sheep Trail with the option of going to Rae Lake, depending on interest, and back to the parking lot at Elbow Pass Day Use.
The decision to go to Rae Lakes will depend on the interest of the registrants as the trail is a bit challenging.
This is a 23-kilometer ride which should be at least 6 hours including a short break for lunch. There is a combined elevation gain of about 760 meters so be sure your horse is fit. Horses must be shod or have boots. Bring a water bottle and a light lunch for the trail.
In the interest of safety, this trail ride is at a walk. If you are unable to control your horse at a walk, this ride is not for you.
Trail obstacles will include bridges, small streams, cyclists, and hikers and their dogs.
A maximum of 8 riders can join this ride, but please put your name on the waitlist if the ride is full.
The cost to join the ride is $5.00 which covers the cost of the after-ride snacks. You must be a current member of the club, and pre-register to join on the ride.

Arrive approximately 9:30 AM and be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. At the end of the ride, we will get together for review of the ride, socializing and snacks. Please bring your own chair.
